Geologists’ Association Student Symposium (GASS) - Geology and societal change: What difference does your research make?
We would like to bring to your attention the Geologists’ Association Student Symposium (GASS) which is organised by the Geologists Association (GA) with support from the Geological Society and will take place on 19th May 2017, at Burlington House, London.
The theme of the conference is: “Geology and societal change: What difference does your research make?” The symposium is aimed at undergraduates, post graduates and PhD students who have graduated in the last couple of years and provides an opportunity for them to present their research to their peers, academics, industry professionals and members of the GA, on suggested topic areas such as Geohazards, Geoengineering, Exploration and Climate Change.
The purpose of this note is three-fold:
· Bring this Symposium to your attention and given your role within your institution bring it to the attention of your students, or colleagues who may be more involved with the geoscience student community
· The deadline for abstracts is 31st March 2017
· Funding available for travel and accommodation for oral and poster presenters
· Registration opens on-line in January 2017.
Student registration £15, £10 for student GA members and
non- student registration £25.
We have attached a conference flyer which provides more details for an event which I anticipate will be well-supported. We look forward to seeing your University represented at the Symposium.
