The Geologists’ Association is not just for those with ready access to London.
Many Members throughout the British Isles have formed Local Groups, which organize their own meetings and events, or also belong to Affiliated Societies.
Support for special meetings of our Local and Affiliated Groups. GA Council has a policy to ‘pump-prime’ initiatives for Local and Affiliated Groups as well as providing continuing support where possible for special meetings where they become annual events. Click here for more details.

Affiliated Groups
Properly constituted Societies which have interests consistent with the objectives of the Geologists’ Association may apply to the Council for Affiliate status, that offers benefit such as reduced insurance premiums.
Local Groups
Members resident outside London may request recognition as a Local Group, provided there are at least twelve participating GA Members in their group. Local Groups benefit in various ways, for example insurance cover for fieldtrips, free advertising space in the GA Magazine and access to GA grants for special events
