Making Sense of Geological Maps – Virtual Zoom Workshop
Saturday 20th March 2021, 4pm-6pm

The complexities of real geology displayed on maps and sections may seem daunting. The aim of this online workshop is to provide basic rules and techniques than can be applied to interpret geological maps and appreciate geology in three dimensions. It will include exercises for participants to solve and include a Q&A/discussion session. The workshop will be directed by Norman Dutton and is suitable for beginners and anyone wishing to refresh their geological map reading skills.

Norman Dutton taught geology in Black Country secondary schools for 25 years. He was also involved with examinations boards, including as a Chief Examiner for GCSE Geology. Since retiring he has continued a passion for geological education through the Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group and by providing talks, workshops and field trips
