Members of the GA receive the following benefits:
Lecture Meetings: the GA organizes a series of lectures on the first Friday of the month (January to July and September to December), covering a wide variety of geological topics. These will be available online for members to watch. Now mostly available on line to members.
Conferences: the GA organizes an annual conference sponsored by Elsevier as well as an annual student conference – Geologists’ Association Student Symposium 2018 (GASS) – on various geological themes with reduced rates for members.
Festival of Geology: The GA also organises an annual Festival of Geology – an informative and fun day of talks, exhibitions and displays, as well as the chance to meet other geologists.
GA Guides: field guides to specific regions available to members at reduced cost at meetings and through the GA website.
Field Meetings: an extensive programme of field excursions in the UK and overseas, led by international experts, is available to members. Cost of attending is increased by £5 for non-members.
The GA Magazine (editor: L.Gallagher): a full-colour quarterly A4 magazine with interesting articles, book reviews, abstracts of lectures, field meeting reports and up-to-date information on geological developments. The GA Circular is included with the GA Magazine containing details of field excursions, the lecture programme and other meetings, together with events organized by our Affiliated and Local Societies. This is not available to non-members.
The Proceedings of the Geologists’ Association (editor-in-chief: Malcolm Hart): Our in-house quarterly journal, containing scientific research papers of regional and international interest and review articles dealing with all aspects of earth sciences. Members also have electronic access to the journal, including 150 years of classic articles from the back catalogue.
There is a reduced GA subscription for those members who opt for electronic copies only.
Support for special meetings of our Local and Affiliated Groups: GA Council has a policy to pump-prime initiatives for Local and Affiliated Groups as well as providing continuing support where possible for special meetings where they become annual events. Click here for more details.

Research and Conference Grants. Both Full and Student members may apply for a number of awards specifically designed to facilitate research and encourage attendance at scientific meetings.
Library access: members have access to and borrowing rights from the library of University College London, including a wide range of geological maps.
Rock Watch a nationwide club for young geologists and their families.
